The G20 Resource Centre

SAIIA’s G20 Resource Centre is designed to provide African and global partners following G20 developments with comprehensive and up-to-date information on the G20 and Think 20 (T20).

The primary focus is on audiences from the region, including policymakers, civil society organisations (CSOs), private companies, media representatives, researchers and academia. This Resource Centre explores what commitments the G20 has made to Africa, how decisions made by the G20 are affecting Africa and, finally, how the relationship between the G20 and Africa can be enhanced and leveraged to better advance Africa’s Agenda 2063. The goal is to equip African policymakers with relevant evidence-based knowledge to shape Africa’s G20 agenda and to engage in a variety of G20 forums.

The Resource Centre includes a brief historical background on the formation of the G20, its structure, membership and various presidencies. It also features information and research produced by both the T20 (a formal engagement group of the G20, comprising think tanks from G20 members and other countries) and the African think tank equivalent of the T20, the T20 Africa. In addition, the centre provides the latest news, publications and events related to the G20 and T20.
