SAIIA family mourns loss of its Honorary Legal Adviser

Rob Legh3

The South African Institute of International Affairs (SAIIA) is very sad to inform its friends and supporters of the passing of its Honorary Legal Adviser, Rob Legh, who passed away last night.

Rob was the Chairman of Bowmans at the time of his passing and had been SAIIA’s Honorary Legal Adviser and a member of National Council since 2009.

Rob had made valuable contributions to the governance of SAIIA and was responsible for updating and modernising SAIIA’s constitution in 2012. Over the years he provided sound advice on many legal issues. He was always an active participant in the Council meetings, considered in his inputs and with perspectives to issues that helped to move things along – always the gentleman and always with a twinkle in his eye. He was the quintessential lawyer, penetrating in his questions and able to cut to the core of the points we were discussing. We have lost a great South African and SAIIA a good friend and counsel. The SAIIA family mourns his loss. We pray for his wife, Kathryn, and his family at this difficult time.

May he rest in peace.
