ICC issues warrant for arrest for Russia’s President: All eyes on South Africa

South Africa’s Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Naledi Pandor, has reiterated the country’s ‘historical friendship’ with Russia. This follows Russian National Resources and Environment Minister Alexander Kozlov’s visit to Pretoria and the International Criminal Court’s issuing of an arrest warrant for President Vladimir Putin in March. In this interview with 702, Head of the African Governance and Diplomacy Programme at SAIIA, Steven Gruzd, discusses Pretoria’s strong diplomatic ties with Moscow.

SAIIA’s leading experts are available for interviews in person or virtually. We can also arrange for press to conduct interviews on-site at our headquarters in Johannesburg or at our Cape Town office.
