US Ambassador to South Africa, Reuben Brigety, has accused Pretoria of arming Russia and saying this compromises the country’s non-alignment position when it comes to the Russia-Ukraine conflict. In an interview with Channel Africa, SAIIA’s head of the African Governance and Diplomacy Programme, Steven Gruzd, says if the allegations are true South Africa can face serious consequences that stem from US sanctions.
