South African President Cyril Ramaphosa to visit President Putin

Media reports suggest that President Cyril Ramaphosa might travel to Russia soon to persuade Russian President Vladimir Putin not to physically attend the 15th BRICS Summit in Johannesburg in August. According to SAIIA’s Head of the African Governance and Diplomacy Programme Steven Gruzd in this interview with Newzroom Afrika, while South Africa will not dictate to Russia, it will explore ways to save face.
