The role of civil society at the BRICS Summit

South Africa is hosting the 15th BRICS Summit under the theme: ‘ BRICS and Africa: a Partnership for Mutually Accelerated Growth, Sustainable Development, and Inclusive Multilateralism’. Part of the conference’s mandate is to create a global society among BRICS countries. In this Newzroom Afrika interview, SAIIA’s Senior Researcher Gustavo De Carvalho unpacks the significance of the BRICS and the role of civil society at the summit.
