SAIIA and the Embassy of the Republic of Poland invite you to a public lecture by Dr Beata Górka-Winter on geopolitics and foreign policy making, unpacking the main threats to western action.
The world continues to face a rapidly shifting global political environment. The invasion of Ukraine by Russia has overturned the post-Cold War European security order. The West has consolidated around NATO, while US-China rivalry persists. China has been flexing its muscles in its region and is emerging as a second superpower.
Dr Górka-Winter’s lecture will also consider the current political and security landscape for Poland and the Eastern Flank of NATO and possibilities for cooperation with African countries within the EU and NATO.
Dr Górka-Winter is a qualified advisor on security and defence policy with 19 years of experience in cooperation with the civilian and military agencies from different countries (the Central and Eastern Europe region, the United States, Afghanistan and the Southern Caucasus).
