In the face of South Africa's staggering youth unemployment crisis, the Careers Event hosted by SAIIA and the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung on 14 August provided a beacon of hope for humanities graduates.

The event, aptly titled ‘Formative Futures: How to Find Employment with Your Humanities Degree’, drew a packed room of eager students and online participants.

Our dynamic speakers, Professor Bhaso Ndzendze and award-winning journalist Leanne Manas highlighted the often-overlooked career potential within the humanities field and provided valuable advice for graduates preparing to enter the job market.

This annual highlight on SAIIA’s events calendar is aimed at inspiring and empowering young people to forge meaningful careers.

KAS and SAIIA also announced the opening of the 2025 KAS-SAIIA Scholarship applications. Students are encouraged to submit their applications by 21 September 2024.

We extend our gratitude to our speakers, exhibitors, and students for making this event a resounding success.
