Nelson Muffuh

Mr Nelson Muffuh is the Resident Coordinator of the United Nations in South Africa, and he assumed office in December 2022 following his appointment by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. Before this role, Mr. Muffuh, a Cameroonian national, served as the Chief of Staff, Head of Office, and Principal Strategic Adviser to UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed in the Executive Office of the Secretary-General since February 2017. In this capacity, he managed staff in the Deputy Secretary-General's Office, focusing on repositioning the UN development system and strengthening the Resident Coordinators system. A political and international relations expert, as well as an international development specialist, Mr. Muffuh is a graduate of Frei Universitaet Berlin in Germany and Sussex University in the United Kingdom.
