Estonia has developed its first Africa strategy for 2020-2030. The first obstacle was COVID-19 but its implementation is now in full swing. Why is Estonia looking towards Africa? What are the areas of cooperation? Estonian Ambassador to Kenya and South Africa, H.E. Mr Daniel Schaer will address this first Africa Strategy and more with SAIIA Western Cape.

Estonian Ambassador to Kenya and South Africa H.E Mr Daniel Schaer has over 20 years of diplomatic experience. He became Estonia’s first Ambassador to Kenya and South Africa in 2023. Previously, he was the Estonian Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovnia, North Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia. As Ambassador at Large- Special Diplomatic Representative of the President of Estonia for Africa- he also helped run Estonia’s successful UN Security Council Campaign.
