Ever wondered how one becomes the next climate negotiator for South Africa? Well, you’re in luck! We call on YOU(th), as the next emerging young climate experts and negotiatiors of South Africa, to join this training. This training is co-created with DFFE and GIZ on what is required to become South Africa’s next climate negotiator.
This training will provide emerging Young Delegates and other attendees to be capacitated in both hard and soft skills that would allow them to participate in our national, regional, and global climate negotiation processes. A focus on soft skills, such as negotiation skills and stakeholder engagement, as well as thematic knowledge such as South African’s Climate Policy Priorities at COP30 will be our primary focus areas. These skills will be further polished with a Model COP negotiation simulation session, thus allowing this youth cohort an opportunity to put their newly acquired skills and knowledge to the test.
This training is undertaken alongside the Department of Forestry, Fisheries, and the Environment and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
