Tyla Nxumalo is an emerging youth policymaker, leader and intersectional activist with a strong commitment to policy engagement, peacebuilding, youth empowerment and sustainable community development. She holds a Bachelor’s in Political Science and Sociology from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.

She joined SAIIA’s Youth Programme in 2021, where she gained valuable experience in advancing inclusive and meaningful youth participation in decision-making processes. As a Youth Coordinator Leader and member of the Youth Policy Committee, she has played a key role in shaping youth policy initiatives.
