The rules-based order has given way to new geopolitical, economic and security realities. This has prompted Canada to rethink and reposition its foreign policy framework and objectives quickly.
Drawing on Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney’s remarks at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos in January, High Commissioner for Canada in South Africa, James Christoff, will speak to the areas where Canada has been compelled to focus time and resources in pursuit of immediate economic and security priorities.
He will unpack some of the sectors where Canada and South Africa might best work together in the spirit of middle power alignment to achieve mutual benefit.
