Africa today faces a defining paradox: the continent is widely perceived as capital-scarce and highly risky, yet it holds significant domestic financial resources that could help finance its transformation.
Against this backdrop, the African Peer Review Mechanism, the UN Economic Commission for Africa, UN Development Programme, AfriCatalyst, SAIIA and other strategic partners are convening the 2nd Africa Annual Conference on Credit Ratings.
Under the theme “Towards Developing African Capital Markets: Rechannelling Africa’s Capital,” the conference will advance actionable reforms to help African capital remain, circulate, and grow within the continent in support of sustainable development, industrialisation, regional integration, and economic resilience.
Bringing together policymakers, central bankers, regulators, institutional investors, credit rating agencies, development finance institutions, academics, and market participants, the conference will explore ways to reform credit rating systems, mobilise domestic capital, deepen African financial markets, reduce borrowing costs, and strengthen Africa’s financial sovereignty.
We look forward to your participation.
