The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Pretoria and SAIIA will be hosting a joint event commemorating three decades of cooperation between Poland and South Africa.

In 2021 Poland and South Africa celebrated 30 years of diplomatic relations. These two nations cooperate in the areas of trade, investment, culture and science. Their framework for cooperation is underpinned by the Intergovernmental Agreement on Economic Cooperation signed in October 2013 and several other sectoral agreements and Memoranda of Understanding. This joint event, hosted by SAIIA and the Embassy of Poland, will outline areas for enhanced cooperation between the two countries for the next decade. The speakers’ panel will include:

  • H.E. Mr Andrzej Kanthak, Ambassador of Poland to South Africa.
  • A representative from the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (TBC).
  • Ms Elizabeth Sidiropoulos, Chief Executive at SAIIA.
  • Dr Jędrzej Czerep, Senior Analyst at the Polish Institute of International Affairs.

Please note in-person participation is limited to 60 people.
