Managing Sub-Saharan African migration: the developmental approach

The South African Institute of International Affairs, Western Cape Branch cordially invites you to a Speaker's meeting on 'Managing Migration from Sub-Saharan Africa: the developmental approach' with Sibusiso Nkomo and Miranda Madikane.

Miranda Madikane is a graduate of the University of Cape Town with a BA in English and Drama. As a young graduate, she worked as a stage manager at most of the big theatres in Cape Town. Thereafter she worked as a communications officer for Pro Helvetia, the Swiss Arts Council and also for Scalabrini Centre as Development Manager. She took over the Directorship of Scalabrini Centre in 2007 and has led the organisation ever since.

Sibusiso Nkomo is senior project leader in the Research and Policy Programme at the Institute for Justice and Reconciliation in Cape Town. He works on the Afrobarometer project’s strategic communications and partnerships. He is a former journalist and worked for Independent Media for some years and then moved into research at Good Governance Africa in Johannesburg. He was educated at Stellenbosch University and the University of Witwatersrand and holds a BA, postgraduate diploma and a MA.
