The first Korea-Africa Summit, held in June 2024, was a great success and laid the strong foundation for enhanced partnership between the African continent and Korea in many fields, including health, education and gender issues. South Africa’s upcoming role as the host of the 2025 G20 Summit, coupled with the African Union’s full membership in the G20, provides a timely opportunity to deepen collaboration with key global partners, including the Republic of Korea, on pressing issues.
This dialogue unpacked the key outcomes of the 2024 Korea-Africa Summit and explored the commitments made between South Korea and African countries, including South Africa. This conference also looked at how cooperation can further pave the way for a robust health and education agenda and foster lasting partnerships to address shared health and education goals.
