The Scots, Catalans and Quebecois of Africa: studying secession, separatism and border change in uncertain times

A joint speakers event hosted by the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung and SAIIA with guest speaker Dr Jan Erk

Jan Erk is currently a researcher at the Institute for International and Comparative Law in Africa (ICLA), University of Pretoria. Earlier this year he was a Fellow at the Stellenbosch Institute for Advanced Study (STIAS), Stellenbosch. In 2017 he was a Bradlow Fellow at the South African Institute of International Affairs. He completed his doctorate Ph.D. in Comparative Federalism, Political Science at McGill University, Montreal. He has published many books, the latest being The Ethnopolitics of Ethnofederalism in Ethiopia.

Refreshments will be served before the event.

All are welcome. Entrance for SAIIA members is free; R50 for visitors, R20 for students on presentation of student identification.
