SAIIA Western Cape branch invites you to a webinar that will unpack economic and tourism promotion in a time of COVID-19.

The current CEO of Wesgro, Tim Harris and former head of Wesgro and World Bank, David Bridgman will discuss this topical issue.

Speaker: Tim Harris is CEO of Wesgro, the Tourism, Trade & Investment Promotion Agency for Cape Town and the Western Cape. Tim has established himself as a well published thought leader on policy in Africa. He has deep connections and networks across the continent and has on-the-ground experience in thirty African countries. He has a Masters in Economics and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature, has worked on five election campaigns and has led teams responsible for policy development, communications and campaign events.

Discussant: David Bridgman served as Wesgro CEO from 1988 to 1998, and led negotiations over the Wesgro Act. He subsequently managed the World Bank Group’s investment climate advisory service in Sub-Saharan Africa. 

Moderator: Jeremy Wiley is a real estate entrepreneur and businessman in Cape Town. He is the former President of the Cape Chamber of Commerce and Industry, former chair of Cape Metropolitan Tourism and a founding director of the destination marketing organisation, Cape Town Routes Unlimited, before it was merged into Wesgro.
