Tad arrived in Pretoria in August 2020 to lead the political team at the U.S. Mission in South Africa. He previously served in political/economic sections in Kathmandu, Kolkata, Yaounde, and Nairobi and in the consular section in Dhaka. In Washington, he served as the Office Director in the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs, a Senior Watch Officer in the Operations Center, and the Executive Assistant in the Office of the Secretary of State.
Originally from Buffalo, New York, Tad earned a Bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and a Master’s degree from the National War College.
