Elizabeth Sidiropoulos

South Africa pushed for the elicit financial flows issue to the G20 agenda

Until 2023, South Africa was the only African country to have a permanent seat in the G20. The recent admission of the African Union (AU) to the bloc means Africa can amplify its voice in global economic governance. In this interview with Ubuntu Radio, SAIIA’s chief executive, Elizabeth Sidiropoulos, unpacks some of the issues South Africa advocated for in the G20 and the importance of admitting the AU as a member.

SAIIA’s leading experts are available for interviews in person or virtually. We can also arrange for press to conduct interviews on-site at our headquarters in Johannesburg or at our Cape Town office.
The views expressed are those of the interviewees and do not necessarily reflect the views of the South African Institute of International Affairs (SAIIA).
