South Africa is the latest country that has expressed its desire to host a peace summit between Ukraine and Russia. The heads of state of Congo-Brazzaville, Egypt, Senegal, Uganda and Zambia are expected to form part of the delegation. In this interview with SAFM, SAIIA’s Senior Researcher Gustavo de Carvalho says the prospects of hosting peace talks provide the country with an opportunity to showcase that it has a positive influence and is non-aligned.
