Two congressmen want the US to speedily review its bilateral relations with South Africa. They’re angered by South Africa’s decision to take Israel to the International Court of Justice over the war in Gaza. In this interview with CGTN, SAIIA’s Senior Researcher Gustavo De Carvalho says it would be a tricky situation to jeopardise bilateral relations, particularly when South Africa has gone through a legal process at the International Court of Justice that’s very much in line with the idea of a rules-based order internationally.
