Wagner Group seized control of a strategic city in Russia

However, after a deal was struck, The private militia group boss Yevgeny Prigozhin ordered his troops to retreat to avoid shedding Russian blood. In this SAFM interview, SAIIA’s Senior Researcher Gustavo De Carvalho says the insurrection shows that Russia president’s hand of creating a stronger system of control of the military has failed.
