Marcel Nagar is a Lecturer at the Department of Political Studies at the University of the Western Cape. She obtained her Doctoral degree in Political Science at the University of Johannesburg and holds Bachelors, Honours, and Master’s degrees in International Relations and Public Policy and Administration at the University of Cape Town. Her research interests include African Politics, International Political Economy, Foreign Policy, Public Policy and Administration, and the broader debates surrounding the Developmental State and as well as the Democratic Developmental State.
