SAIIA, the BRICS Policy Centre and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation teamed up to produce a series of webinars focusing on the impact of COVID-19 on Africa and Latin America, as well as the need for greater international cooperation in the face of the pandemic. This first episode looked at the economic impacts of domestic responses to COVID-19 in the fields of health and social protection across the two regions. The speakers also reflected on the role that civil society and technology can play in mitigating the impact of the pandemic.
