G20 on African soil: Can South Africa deliver a fairer deal for Africa?

SAIIA chief executive, Elizabeth Sidiropoulos, tells SABC News that South Africa must focus on what the G20 can achieve without the US as “Certain reforms to the IMF and World Bank, where the US has veto power, and also the World Trade Organization trade dispute settlement system, are areas where we can’t expect progress at the moment”.

SAIIA’s leading experts are available for interviews in person or virtually. We can also arrange for press to conduct interviews on-site at our headquarters in Johannesburg or at our Cape Town office.
The views expressed are those of the interviewees and do not necessarily reflect the views of the South African Institute of International Affairs (SAIIA).
