Danielle Marais is a student at Stellenbosch University pursuing her Masters in Political Science by thesis. She holds an Honours Degree in International Studies (cum laude) from Stellenbosch University, where she researched the relationship between state sovereignty and global crises. Her other research interests are environmental crime, specifically wildlife and marine life poaching, resource governance, renewable energy, and climate change.
