COP21 and Climate Change in Africa

This year, SAIIA Youth Policy Committee member Morategi Kale will be travelling to Paris to participate in the largest global conference on climate change, COP21.

We caught up with her just before she flew to Paris, to ask her:

  • What is COP, and why is this year’s conference so special?
  • What are the tensions in the negotiations at the moment?
  • What is South Africa’s role at COP expected to be?
  • What is your opinion as a young person about climate change?
