Africa’s gathering debt storm

Without rapid and vastly increased external help to weather the COVID-19 storm and ease their debt-service burden, many African economies could collapse. This would directly affect the rich world in ways for which it is not prepared.

Peaceful use of nuclear energy in Africa

On 6 August 2020, SAIIA’s Atoms for Development Project hosted a webinar to reflect on the peaceful use of nuclear energy in Africa. This event coincided with the 75th commemoration of the dropping of the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima, which used uranium sourced from Africa.
